The mission of MU Family Medicine physicians is to provide excellent, comprehensive medical care to individuals and families in mid-Missouri. The vigorous clinical orientation maintained by our faculty and residents has had a positive impact on health care in our communities.

Our physicians manage six clinics; annual patient visits at these clinics total nearly 85,000.

and medically underserved families in the Columbia area:

Specialized Health Care Services
Our physicians offer clinics that provide specialized health care services in the community:

Sage Clinic

  • The Senior Assessment Geriatric Evaluation (SAGE) Clinic provides consultation or primary care to elderly individuals with medical, nursing, nutritional, and psychosocial needs.
  • The Musculoskeletal Clinic provides diagnosis and treatment to individuals with sports-related and other physical injuries.
  • The Stress Clinic treats patients dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, and other stress-related illnesses.
  • In addition, our physicians offer a full range of Women's Health Care services, including obstetric care, ultrasound, and colposcopy.

The AHRQ web site provides evidence-based information on health care outcomes, quality, and cost, use, and access. Information for consumers and patients, clinical information, and the National Guideline Clearinghouse, a public resource for evidence-based clinical practice guidelines, can be accessed through this site.
